What is Naphazoline Hydrochloride
Naphazoline hydrochloride, also known as nasal eye net, is a vasoconstrictor commonly used in otorhinolaryngology and ophthalmology in hospitals at present. It is an adrenaline-like drug with strong vasoconstrictive and antihypertensive effects, inhibits the central nervous system, plays an anti-inflammatory and analgesic role in local lesions where inflammation occurs by constricting local blood vessels, and can eliminate congestion due to fatigue or other causes. It is used clinically for the treatment of colds, acute and chronic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, allergic and inflammatory nasal congestion. Prolonged topical use can result in too little blood flow to the part of the medicine being used, which can cause a loss of resistance and result in a secondary infection. It should not be taken internally. Too many drops or too high a concentration of the medicine can cause poisoning. Caution should be exercised especially in children, infants, people with high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, and people with atrophic rhinitis. The interval between drops should preferably be at least 4-6 hours.
1. Naphazoline Hydrochloride is a vasoconstrictor
2. Naphazoline Hydrochloride is an alpha agonist and is a strong local vasoconstrictor. It has a rapid and long-lasting effect on peripheral blood vessels and can be used in allergic inflammatory rhinitis, acute and chronic rhinitis, ocular congestion and in bacterial conjunctivitis.
