What is Lactobacillus rhamnosus?
Lactobacillus Rhamnosus Probiotics mostly exists in the intestines of humans and animals. The bacterial taxonomy belongs to the genus Lactobacillus, subspecies rhamnose. It is a gram-positive probiotic that is anaerobic, acid-resistant and does not produce spores.Insen Lactobacillus rhamnosus cannot utilize lactose and can ferment a variety of monosaccharides (glucose, arabinose, maltose, etc.). Most strains can produce a small amount of soluble ammonia, but do not produce indole and hydrogen sulfide. It is acid and bile resistant. Biological characteristics such as salt and resistance to multiple antibiotics.
1) Pregnancy
Lactobacillus rhamnosus probiotic supplementation may reduce the incidence of gestational diabetes. Rhamnose also exerts anti-diabetic effects in mice and has anti-hyperglycemic effects in several rodent models. Rhamnose further improves glucose tolerance and increases sensitivity. Prenatal supplementation with Lactobacillus rhamnosus alters the composition of the neonatal microbiota, promoting a beneficial profile dominated by bifidobacteria. It has a positive impact on immune regulation and immune response in mothers and offspring. Furthermore, some of the beneficial effects of prenatal Lactobacillus rhamnosus supplementation extend to the offspring after birth, suggesting that Lactobacillus rhamnosus may have an immune programming effect. However, it is important to remember that pregnancy is a sensitive situation and each person's experience is different. If you are pregnant, please consult your doctor before using probiotics.
2) Intestinal Health
Lactobacillus rhamnosus is often chosen as a candidate probiotic for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal infections and diarrhea. It can reduce the duration of diarrhea, especially in children. It has also been shown to reduce the risk of daily doses of gastrointestinal infections in hospitalized children. Lactobacillus rhamnosus has been shown to reduce symptoms in children with functional gastrointestinal disorders . It is also beneficial in combating stress-induced intestinal motility disorders in mice .
3) Respiratory diseases
Fermented milk containing Lactobacillus rhamnosus is effective in reducing the risk of respiratory infections in hospitalized children lasting more than three days. The incidence of RTIs and rhinovirus-induced seizures appeared to be significantly reduced in preterm infants treated with daily Lactobacillus rhamnosus capsules starting within one week of birth for the first two months. Consumption of Lactobacillus rhamnosus reduces the incidence of respiratory illness in children in daycare centers. Lactobacillus rhamnosus has been shown to protect hospitalized patients from ventilator-associated pneumonia, mainly caused by gram-negative pathogens such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In patients with cystic fibrosis with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, long-term use of Lactobacillus rhamnosus significantly reduced the incidence of pulmonary deterioration and increased body weight.
4) Liver function
Lactobacillus rhamnosus restored liver function in obese children with NAFLD. Lactobacillus rhamnosus may prevent alcoholic liver injury. It protects mice from NAFLD by increasing beneficial bacteria in the distal small intestine and reducing hepatic fat accumulation and portal vein alanine aminotransferase concentrations.
1.Application in cosmetics. The main effects of Lactobacillus rhamnosus in cosmetics are antioxidant, whitening and moisturizing properties. In addition, it can also inhibit tyrosinase activity in vitro and effectively promote moisturization.
