Vitamin K can be divided into two categories, both of which are derivatives of 2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone. One is fat-soluble vitamins, which are extracted from green plants (such as alfalfa, spinach, etc.) Vitamin K1 and vitamin K2 extracted from microorganisms, human intestinal bacteria (such as Escherichia coli) can also synthesize vitamin K2.
Vitamin K2 is used to treat bleeding caused by VK2 deficiency; promote the formation of thrombin, accelerate blood coagulation, and maintain proper coagulation time; also used as a rapid coagulant in surgery or emergency
* Vitamin K2 is used to treat osteoporosis, a degenerative bone disease. VK2 produces a specific protein called osteocalcin, which binds calcium and therefore increases bone density and prevents fractures.
* Vitamin K2 can prevent hepatocellular carcinoma in women with viral liver cirrhosis.
* Vitamin K2 has the effect of diuresis, promoting liver detoxification and lowering blood pressure.
