What is Maduramicin Ammonium
 

This product is glycoside polyether ionophore antibiotic, which has the strongest anticoccidial effect and the lowest drug concentration,and thus it is widely used in anti-coccidiosis of chicken. The anticoccidial mechanism is to excited Na +, k + ,ATP of sporozoite so that concentration of Na + in sporozoite increases,leading to Cl + increases and make the sporozoite absorbent swelling and vacuolization. Coccidia has no osmotic pressure regulator so their its osmotic pressure changes, resulting in poor growth. This product is effective in killing sporozoite, their first and second asexual generations and merozoites.

 

Function of  Maduramicin Ammonium
 

Maduramicin ammonium is prepared from maduramicin by taking advantage of the acidic carboxylic acid which ionises and readily forms the salt in ammonium hydroxide solutions. The ammonium salt is the preferred formulation in animals to prevent coccidiosis and to promote growth. Maduramicin is also active against Treponema and Cryptosporidium. Maduramicin is an ionophore, forming complexes with monovalent cations, with a higher affinity for K+ than Na+.


Maduramicin ammonium plays a role in the 48h before coocidia's asexual reproduction, killing coccidia's sporozoite, trophozoites and the first generation schizonts.  It could disrupt membrane's active transport capacity of Na+and K+in coccidia, to  make coccidia energy lacking and death.
